The word of Japan’s death spread like a wildfire. First, the news reached Europe, then it traveled to the Americas. Soon, the Asian countries received word of Japan’s demise, and of all of them, China was saddened the most. China had raised Japan since when Japan was a little boy, and losing his brother crushed the elder country inside. As Italy watched China break down in a fit of sobs, Italy did too. Italy welcomed China into his arms, and they both cried together, gasping Japan’s name over and over again.

When America found out of Japan’s death, he could hardly believe it. The two were great friends, and knowing that one of his friends was dead made the country grieve. Germany hated telling him, because mentioning Japan was enough to make him cry, and he didn’t dare cry in front of  another country, especially America.

Soon, the whole world knew that Japan was dead, and they all held a worldwide ceremony for the loss. Italy felt the worst, because Japan sacrificed himself for HIM, and he felt like he was the one to blame.

At least Japan said he was happy.

Ever since Dion killed Japan, Germany had been extra careful when watching Italy. He hasn’t slept in weeks, since he was constantly on guard. Germany yawned and stared at the sniffing Italy. He was still grieving over the loss of their dear friend. Italy turned around and caught Germany staring. the German yawned again and Italy sat down next to him.

“You can take a quick nap if you want to, Germany.” Italy said. Germany shook his head.

“Nein, I can’t. I have to protect you from Dion at all costs.” Germany said. Italy patted Germany on the shoulder.

“It’s okay, Germany! I can wake you up in an hour or so. You need the sleep!” Italy whined. Germany, who couldn’t keep the battle of staying awake going on, nodded. Leaning against an oak tree, he closed his eyes and immediately fell asleep. Italy watched as Germany slept. Italy knew that Germany had been up all night while Italy slept every night for weeks, and Germany never got a blink of sleep. Italy decided that he’d let Germany sleep for two hours instead of one. Giggling at the thought, he snuggled close to the sleeping country. His cell phone rang, and it was his older brother Romano. Italy answered it immediately, fearing his ringtone would wake Germany.

“Ciao, Romano.” Italy whispered. He heard a loud groan on the other end.

“Feliciano, why the hell are you whispering?!” Romano snapped. Italy sighed.

“If I talk loud, I’ll wake up Germany. He hasn’t slept in days, because he thought Dion was going to get me. I told him he should take a nap, and he is.” Italy said. Romano nodded, and the two didn’t speak for a minute. Italy soon broke the silence.

“Why did you call, fratello?” Italy asked. Romano was about to say something incredibly rude, but then he remembered why he called.

“I wanted to know if you were doing okay. You know, with you-know-who?” Romano sighed. Italy’s heart almost stopped when Romano mentioned Japan. Italy missed him so much, but if he began to cry, he would wake up Germany and make Romano angry. Instead, Italy tried to smile and lie to his brother.

“I’m doing okay. I miss him, but I’m fine!” Italy choked. Romano nodded and again, there was a silence.

“I just wanted to check.” Romano said. Without saying goodbye, Romano hung up the phone. Italy heard the dial tone at the other end and knew that Romano had hung up on him. Italy sighed and looked at his watch. 2:30. He would have to wake Germany in an hour and a half. As much as Italy wanted to sleep too, he fought the urge and sat down next to Germany and opened up some games on his phone. The games eventually made Italy lose track of time, and by the time Italy’s battery was nearly dead, it was 6:00. Italy yelped and shook Germany. Germany jolted awake and looked around.

“I’m sorry, Germany! I lost track of time!” Italy cried. Germany smiled at his friend. As much as he wanted to sleep some more, he knew that he was rested enough, and that Italy would let him if he asked.

“It’s okay, Italy. Thank you.” Germany said. Italy’s frown turned into a smile.

“You’re welcome! Hahahaha!”

Dion paced back and forth, mumbling things to himself.

“One down, two to go. Who should I kill first? Italy or Germany? I think Italy, because he’d be easiest to kill, but that would piss Germany off. Maybe I could kill Germany first, and then Italy? No, he would be too hard to kill. Maybe I should kill them both at the same time. But how would that work? I think I should kill Germany. No matter how hard it is, I swear he’ll be next. That’ll leave a defenceless Italy for me to kill. Italy would be crushed, I’d shoot him in the head and it’ll all be over. I’ll go kill the Allies, then some other countries if I have to. I WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!”

“Germany, where are you going?” Italy asked. Germany didn’t look at Italy.

“ I’m running a few errands. When I leave, lock the doors and windows behind me. I don’t want Dion to come in and kill you. Don’t open the door to anyone, even if it’s Romano, or Austria, don’t trust anyone until I get back. I’ll give you a secret knock, and that’s how you’ll let me in. Understood?” Italy nodded at Germany and gave him a salute.

“Yes sir, Mr. Germany sir!” Italy called. Germany gave Italy a grin and left the house. Italy stared out the window and waved to Germany. When Germany left, Italy ran around the house, locking every window and all the doors he could see. He eventually made his way into the basement and locked himself in from the inside. He secured the basement, and when he was finished, he slumped into a chair and turned on the TV.

Time passed and Germany still hasn’t arrived yet. Italy knew that Germany always took this long to run errands, and he would be home any minute, so he should wait for him. Italy’s stomach growled as he made his way upstairs. He would go and make some pasta while he waited, and he’ll make some extra for Germany too! Italy smiled as he bounced into the kitchen, turning on the stove. Italy poured a bunch of spaghetti noodles into the pot of boiling water and stirred for a while. As Italy stirred the bowl, he began to worry about Germany. Now Germany was really taking his time. He decided to call Germany to see where he was. Italy dialed Germany’s number, and waited. Unfortunately it went straight to his voice mail. Italy began pacing, and he was about to panic when he heard a knock on his door.

“Ah, there he is! I worried for nothing, I knew that he would come home!” Italy cheered. He made his way to the door and peered out the peephole. It was Romano, and he had a very serious look on his face. Italy remembered Germany’s orders to not let anyone in the house, but Romano looked pretty scared, so Italy opened the door. As he did, Romano pulled Italy into a hug.

“What’s wrong, fratello?” Italy asked. Romano shook his head.

“I’m so sorry, Italy, Germany....Germany was...” Romano couldn’t make out the last words. He broke down in tears as he tried to talk. He couldn’t bear bringing the news to his younger brother, for he had just lost Japan weeks earlier. As Romano pulled himself together, he finally said the words that he dreaded saying.

“Germany was killed by Dion.”
Now I agree that Dion is a jerk. TTATT

And I would like to point out that I FUCKING HATE YAOI, AND I DO NOT SHIP GERITA.

Also, I left off on another cliffhanger!! Hahaha!

As much as i would love to continue reading this if no Gerita is involved I see little reason to read about a grieving Italy
